●別人と間違える mistake sb for a different person

別人になりすます pose as another person; go under another identity

・ひげを剃ったらまるで別人になった. He looked quite a different person after shaving off his beard.

・普段は陽気な彼女だが, 作業台に向かうと別人になる. Usually cheerful, when she is at her workbench she becomes a different person.

●退職してからの彼は企業戦士だった頃とは別人の観がある. Since he retired, he gives the impression of being a changed man from when he was a corporate warrior.

・彼女は教室の外では別人のように生き生きしている. Outside the classroom, she is like a different woman, lively and cheerful.

・王女のものと思われた遺体は, 鑑定の結果別人のものと判明した. What had been thought to be the body of the princess was proved on (scientific) examination to be that of someone else.
